Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie Pazmino. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. I am currently a doctoral candidate at Adler University in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program (Ph.D.).
I have familiarity working with diverse populations of all ages, ranging from addictions, to the parole and juvenile justice system, teen pregnancy and parenting, academic settings with a strong emphasis in community mental health programs. I withhold a multicultural lens through knowledge, training and experience.
My focus centers on a humanistic notion with compassion being at the forefront of healing. The therapeutic approach I utilize is an integrated framework where Person-Centered, Strengths Based, CBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt and Narrative therapy can be applied.
My aim is to create a secure environment where healing can be cultivated through acceptance, encouragement and genuineness. Growth can be facilitated through understanding, learning new skills and building an awareness of self. Through a strengths-based perspective there can be a positive, united relationship where empowerment can be developed. It is my hope to provide an optimistic, tranquil, experience in therapy.
